A rollover accident on U.S. Highway 40 seriously injured one man and shut down rush hour traffic for about half an hour late Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities blocked off the highway so a Life Net helicopter could land to transport the victim, who was flown to Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Douglas County Sheriff's officers on the scene said the driver was heading west on U.S. 40 when he lost control and overturned his pickup truck.
A five-mile stretch of the highway, between Stull Road and County Route 1023, was shut down while the helicopter landed.
Authorities have not yet released the man's name.
