Grbac sidelined by rib injury

October 29, 2001

— The Baltimore Ravens put injured quarterback Elvis Grbac on the inactive list for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Randall Cunningham, who relieved Grbac in each of the Ravens' previous two games, got his first start with Baltimore. The veteran completed 23 of 31 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown as Baltimore snapped a two-game losing streak with an 18-17 victory.

Grbac, the former Kansas City Chief, hurt his ribs against Cleveland last Sunday and did not practice with the Ravens' first-team offense in the days leading up to Sunday's game.

Grbac completed 116 of 195 passes for six touchdowns in his first six games with the Ravens. But he threw eight interceptions and had a 73.6 quarterback rating.
