Kristen May, a junior on Kansas University's women's basketball team, has decided to leave school for personal reasons, coach Marian Washington announced Wednesday.
"She has done really well as a student and we are sorry she has to bring her basketball career to an end," Washington said. "We hope Kristen gets well and gets back to school."
May, a guard from Kansas City, Mo., appeared in six games last season, averaging 5.8 minutes, 2.0 points and 1.2 assists per game. May was a three-time Jayhawk Scholar and was named most improved player after her freshman year.
