Topeka -- A suspected bank robber's hearing to decide whether he will remain in custody was postponed Tuesday. The hearing for Stephen Young, 47, of Lawrence, was rescheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Federal prosecutors said they wanted to postpone to allow a grand jury to decide whether to indict Young. The grand jury meets today.
Meantime, Young remains at a federal holding facility. Young was arrested for the Sept. 29 robbery of Douglas County Bank, 3101 Iowa.
Police say a man demanded money from a bank teller, who turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. Police said no weapon was displayed during the robbery.
