Mr. Uhlrich died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Lee's Summit Hospital from an arterial occlusion.
He was born Aug. 11, 1943, in McLouth, the son of Bernard and Bonnie (Black) Uhlrich. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Tonganoxie High School.
He attended Kansas University and served in the U.S. Army for three years, including a tour of duty in Germany.
In Lee's Summit, Mr. Uhlrich worked for Western Electric/AT&T; for 28 years and was a member of American Telephone Pioneers and Big Brothers of America.
He married Jane Evans on March 11, 1967. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Ben, Greenwood; his parents, Lawrence; a sister, Cheryl Packard, Lawrence; and a brother, James, Edwardsville.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Francis Uhlrich Memorial Fund for his son's education, sent in care of the mortuary, 115 SW Third St., 64063.
