Joe Hartly and Ken Wilson, both of Kansas City, Mo., teamed to catch 10 crappie that weighed 8.25 pounds and won the Crappie Busters tournament last Sunday at Clinton Lake.

Chatt Martin of Lawrence and Marvin Grimes of Garnett caught 10 crappie that weighed 8.02 pounds and finished second. Steve Cross of Carbondale and Doc Simmons of Overbrook caught the biggest crappie (1.44 pounds).

Lawrence duo win

Steve Ortiz and Andy Albertson, both of Lawrence, teamed to win the Sterett Creek Marina Invitational bass tournament last weekend at Truman Lake in Missouri.

Waterfowl session

Topeka -- Chad Luce of Wildlife and Parks will talk about waterfowl at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kansas History Center. Luce will talk about techniques and tactics for hunting waterfowl. Included will be a retriever demonstration.

Coffey youth deer hunt

Burlington -- Volunteers from the Wolf Creek power plant will guide and supervise 24 hunters between the ages of 12 and 18 surrounding Coffey County Lake during firearms deer season. For information, call 785 528-4102 Wednesday through Friday.
