Veteran broadcaster Tom Hedrick on Tuesday will be inducted into the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Ceremonies will be held during a reception from 6 to 8 p.m., at Maner Conference Center in Topeka.
Long-time Lawrence resident Hedrick will be inducted with Harold Ensley, Overland Park; Ken Jennison, Salina; Tom Leahy, Wichita and Dev Nelson (posthumously), Manhattan.
Hedrick was play-by-play radio voice of Kansas University football and basketball for 16 years. He broadcast KU baseball for 32 years. He also has taught sportscasting at KU for 26 years.
Hedrick has also been voice of the Kansas City Chiefs, calling three Super Bowls for CBS Radio. He broadcast the Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers.
Hedrick has been a broadcaster for 43 years.
