Franklin County Sheriff's officers were still at the scene late Friday, and little information was released about the accident.
It occurred around 8:20 p.m. about 10 miles south of Ottawa on old highway 50, which runs parallel to Interstate 35, a Franklin County dispatcher said.
At least five passengers were involved in the wreck, the dispatcher said. Four of the passengers died, she said.
The victims' names were not being released late Friday, but they were identified as Franklin County residents.
