— Kansas University handed Oklahoma State its first home loss of the season on Sunday, winning 5-3 at Cowgirl Soccer Complex.

The Jayhawks (6-2-0 overall, 2-0-0 Big 12) got on the board quickly when Monica Brothers capitalized on a feed from Hilla Rantala at the 1:36 mark of the first half. Rantala's assist was the first of four for the senior in the game.

The Cowgirls (4-5-0, 0-2-0) drew even in the game's 13th minute on forward Joanne Edwards' second goal of the season. The sophomore was assisted by freshman Nikki Wojtowicz. Three minutes later, Natalie Hoogveld scored courtesy of Rantala to put KU back in front 2-1. OSU freshman Krista Dedmon knotted the score at 19:32 on a penalty kick.

Rachel Gilfillan gave the Jayhawks a 3-2 halftime lead with a tally in the game's 34th minute. Brothers extended the lead to a pair of goals at the 58:45 mark on Rantala's third assist of the game.

OSU freshman Leah Carr's header cut the deficit to 4-3 with 13:30 remaining in the contest, but Brothers sealed the win with three minutes to go on Rantala's fourth assist of the game.
