Seattle Carlos Guillen spent his 26th birthday quarantined with tuberculosis, and the Mariners don't know if their shortstop will be ready for the playoffs. Guillen was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis on Friday. He entered the hospital Saturday and is receiving antibiotics.
Trammell gets new deal
San Francisco Outfielder Bubba Trammell and the Padres agreed Sunday to a three-year contract extension through the 2004 season with a club option for 2005. Going into Sunday's game at San Francisco, Trammell was hitting .252 with 24 home runs and 90 RBIs.
