Squishy approach

While al-Qaida establishes sophisticated networks and collects information on WMDs (weapons of mass destruction) the squishies want only all factions in Afghanistan to be represented. Never once have I heard any politician, any academic or any media commentator mention the almost desperate need for HIGH QUALITY LEADERSHIP in that nation.

It is as if, regardless of the intelligence of leaders, the threats of terrorism and ethnic conflict will vanish if a balanced government is achieved. In the past five millennia, there have only been about 300 years in which no organized wars were occurring and in each of the 300 years there may have been guerrilla actions. Perhaps sometime the military will not be able to become better fast enough to offset the squishies detachment from reality.
