Three additional deaths late Saturday and Sunday on Missouri roads brought the state's total traffic-related fatalities to 12 people during the long holiday weekend.
Dimas J. Cano-Villanueva, 58, Springfield, died early Sunday when the car he was in ran through an intersection on a Greene County road east of Republic, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. His car struck a sign and a piece of construction equipment.
Russell W. Hohensee, 35, of Maryland Heights was killed early Sunday when the truck he was driving went of off Missouri 94 in St. Charles County and overturned, the patrol said. Hohensee's two sons suffered moderate injuries in the crash.
Jason Moll, 18, of Bartlesville, Okla., died late Saturday when the car he was in missed a curve on a Newton County road about 7 miles southwest of Neosho, the patrol said. The car overturned several times and hit a tree.
The deaths of nine others were reported Sunday.
Thirteen people died on Missouri roads last year during the Thanksgiving weekend counting period. This year's period began at 6 p.m. Wednesday and ran through midnight Sunday.
