Carolina, Puerto Rico Kristy Colligan and Marvelous Washington scored 15 points each to lead the University of Central Florida to a 71-59 victory over Kansas Sunday at the San Juan Shootout.
Central Florida (3-2) finished in fifth place at the shootout and Kansas took sixth place.
Kansas went ahead early, 14-13, after a layup by Selena Scott with 8:36 left in the first half.
Central Florida countered with a 16-6 run, capped by two foul shots made by Khaliah Guillory with 2:34 left before halftime to make the score 29-20.
Central Florida opened a 19-point edge, 68-49, after two foul shots by Washington with 3:30 remaining.
For the Golden Knights, Erin Paige added 13 points and eight rebounds and Jessica Scala had an all-around game with six points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Kansas (2-3) was led by Scott with 18 points and KC Hilgenkamp with 13.
The Golden Knights outrebounded KU 43-30 and were 26-for-30 from the free throw line.
Kansas hit just four of 11 free throw attempts.
