Philadelphia The West Philadelphia high school where Wilt Chamberlain honed his basketball skills dedicated a mosaic to the late NBA star Monday.
The 8-foot-high mural of glass, tile and ceramic inside the lobby of Overbrook High School depicts Chamberlain about to release a shot.
Artist Jonathan Mandell created the mosaic as a gift to the school.
Chamberlain, a 13-time NBA All-Star, graduated from Overbrook in 1955. He scored 2,252 points in three seasons and led the school to city titles in 1954 and 1955.
Then he headed off to Kansas University, where he starred before moving on to the NBA.
