Kring's Interior Fashion Center, 634 Mass., reported that someone took a Porter-Cable brand double router and plunge router and several other items from the store between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday. A Lawrence Police report listed the items' value at $1,370.
Someone broke into a 1989 Jeep Wrangler Saturday night by cutting its canvas top, a Lawrence Police report said. The vehicle was parked in the 1300 block of Ohio Street and belonged to a 19-year-old Lawrence woman. The dashboard was damaged as was a stereo faceplate. But the burglar left behind a 380 semi-automatic pistol that police determined had been stolen in Topeka. A 6-inch folding knife was also left behind in the vehicle.
A 1989 Buick LeSabre abandoned in the 1500 block of Kasold Drive had been reported stolen out of Topeka, Lawrence Police said. The car had been parked in a business' parking lot from Nov. 5 to the time it was towed on Nov. 7. The car was valued at $5,000.
The sunroof of a 2001 Volvo was damaged sometime Sunday night or Monday morning when someone tried to break into it. The car, which belonged to a 50-year-old Lawrence man, had been parked in the 400 block of Rock Fence Place. Damage was listed at $2,000.
More than $3,400 in silver coins, a diamond ring and diamond earrings were reported missing from a residence in the 1200 block of Oak Tree Drive. The items had been kept in a safe in a garage, police were told by the man who lived there. The possible theft occurred sometime between February and October, police were told.
A newspaper delivery person early Tuesday discovered a burglary at Tool Barn, No. 76 U.S. Highway 40. Douglas County Sheriff's officers were called about 6:15 a.m. A door to the business was open but there were no signs of forced entry, a sheriff's report said. A cash register with a small amount of change was taken, the report said.
Mallard Homes Inc., 5200 W. 15th St., reported that someone took 66 sheets of particle board and 35 sheets of Advantec flooring from the 1700 block of Lake Alvamar Drive sometime late Nov. 6 or early Nov. 7. A Lawrence Police report listed the items' value at $1,202.71.
