Lake Zurich, Ill. Kansas University's men's bowling team finished sixth in a 44-team field on Sunday in the Brunswick Great Lakes Classic.
The Jayhawks finished with a pinfall of 9,338. Defending national champion Western Illinois won with 9,704.
Alan Emmons led KU with a 14th-place finish and 204 average, followed by Jason Elliott (197), Jesse James (191), Mike Keeler (190), Marc D'Errico (189), and Ryan Ludwig (187).
KU's women finished 10th out of 25 teams with a pinfall of 8,548. Indiana won the team title with 9,458.
Tiffany McBurney led KU with a 196 average. Kristina Boehm, Annettia Manphei and Brenda Morgan all averaged 181. Kelly Zaph was next at 175, and Nicole Mosqueda averaged 170.
The Jayhawks will travel to St. Louis during Thanksgiving weekend for the National Collegiate Matchgame Tournament.
