A Nebraska-Oklahoma rematch in the Big 12 title game seems to be signed, sealed and delivered, right?
Anyone thinking Texas vs. Colorado?
The possibility could be a real one if No. 2 Nebraska (10-0, 6-0) and No. 3 Oklahoma (8-1, 4-1) get knocked off Saturday. The Huskers are home to Kansas State, the Sooners to Texas A&M.;
Both are favored by at least two touchdowns, but K-State has won two of the last three against Nebraska, and the Aggies nearly beat the Sooners last season.
Kansas State (4-4) gave OU all it could handle before losing 38-37 on Sept. 29. The Wildcats, who ended a four-game slide two weeks ago, are coming off a 42-3 win at Iowa State.
"This is a game where we get the opportunity to show America that we're not the same team that lost four games," K-State wide receiver Aaron Lockett said.
Texas A&M; is 7-2 despite being shut out by Texas Tech last week. Last year, OU's Torrance Marshall returned a fourth-quarter interception 41 yards for the winning touchdown in a 35-31 win over the Aggies.
"Our huge goal is to win the Big 12 South, which will put us in the Big 12 championship game," Sooners quarterback Nate Hybl said. "You can't look past this weekend."
Should stunners occur in Lincoln, Neb., and Norman, Okla., Colorado (7-2, 5-1) and Texas (8-1, 5-1) would seize control of their respective divisions with wins of their own. The Buffaloes are at Iowa State; Kansas visits the Longhorns.
Colorado trails Nebraska by a game in the Big 12 North, and can still steal the division with a win over the Huskers on Nov. 23. Since Texas' loss was to Oklahoma, the Longhorns can only win the division if OU loses again.
No. 1 Miami (7-0) may have an easier time at Boston College after the suspension of BC's William Green, the nation's leading rusher.
The Hurricanes last three visits to Chestnut Hill ended in three close wins 31-28 in '99 after trailing 28-0; 45-44 in double OT in '97; and 17-14 in '95.
In this week's BCS standings, which determine who plays in a national title game at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 3, Nebraska is first, Miami second and Oklahoma third.
