Services for Acil Winn, 92, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ninth Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Winn died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
He was born June 10, 1908, in Haskell, Okla., the son of the Rev. Samuel and Adlaide (Flurry) Winn.
Mr. Winn was a construction worker and was part of a local labor union for many years. He joined Ninth Street Baptist Church in 1960 and served as chairman of its board of directors for more than 20 years.
He had served as a Sunday school teacher and treasurer of the Benevolent Fund, and was a member of the choir, Rachel Circle and laymen.
He married Opal Smith on Aug. 29, 1960, in Enid, Okla. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include four sons, the Rev. Louis, Salina, Samuel, Wichita, David, Muskogee, Okla., and Robert, Lawrence; nine daughters, Amelia Thomas, Salina, Lee Eddie Lyons, Pearlie Hayes, Imogene Edwards and Wynola Winn, all of Wichita, Virgie Irving, Muskogee, Okla., Clarice Scott, Atlanta, and Karen Waddles and Lori Winn, both of Chicago; two brothers, Odessa, Muskogee, Okla., and Marcus, New York City; two sisters, Oda Jackson, Muskogee, Okla., and Addie Cutno, Los Angeles; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Eddie, died earlier.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the mortuary.
