Ottawa Senior Jackie Dubois set a school record with four first-place finishes as Free State High's girls track and field team finished second at the Ottawa Relays on Friday.
Dubois won the 1,600-meter run in 5:24 and the 800 in 2:27.2. She also was on the victorious 3,200 and 1,600 relay teams.
"Our ladies had a great meet," FSHS coach Steve Heffernan said. "We have a good group of athletes who will improve with each meet, to finish this high in the team standings this early is very encouraging."
The Ludwig brothers had a good day for the Firebird boys. Senior Ariel Ludwig won the 3,200 with a time of 10:11.2 and was part of the first-place finishing 3,200 and 1,600 relays. Sophomore Adrian Ludwig also was on the 1,600 relay and finished second in the 800 and third in the 1,600. Results on page 11C.
