Denver The Kansas City Chiefs may be interested in trying to lure Pro-Bowl quarterback Brian Griese out of Denver, the Denver Post reported Friday.
The Post said the Chiefs have asked Griese's agent, Ralph Cindrich, about bringing the restricted free agent to Kansas City next week for a visit.
Kansas City is in desperate need of a quarterback but would pay a price for Griese. Denver could match any offer, and if Griese signed with the Chiefs, Kansas City would have to give the Broncos first- and third-round draft picks.
Griese, the NFL's top-rated quarterback last season, separated his shoulder in November and was sidelined for five weeks.
