The League of Women Voters of Lawrence-Douglas County will have its annual meeting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Westside Presbyterian Church, 1024 Kasold.
A luncheon will be at 12:15 p.m. The cost is $7 per person.

KU graduate students
present papers
Four Kansas University graduate students were among the presenters at the recent Conference on College Composition and Communication in Denver.
Emily Donnelli, Platte City, Mo., Erika Jacobson Dvorske, Glendale, Ariz., and Kristen Garrison, Lenexa, were members of a panel discussion titled "A Way and Will to Hope in Writing Communities."
Donnelli and Eodice also conducted a workshop that explored feminist teachings in the writing center.
A fourth KU student, Donna Binns, Alexandria, Va., presented a paper, "Using State Assessment Awareness to Help Freshman Composition Students Make the Transition to College."
