Olathe — Services for Jack A. Laptad, 68, Olathe, will be at 11 a.m. today at Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Olathe. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Laptad died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Lenexa.
He was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Lawrence, the son of Robert P. and Melba (Hamm) Laptad.
Mr. Laptad served on the Johnson County Sheriff's Department for many years. After retiring he worked for Rocking Chair Cattle Co.
He married Marese A. Ball on June 5, 1952. She died earlier. He then married Beverly Spano. She also died earlier.
Survivors include a son, Jack A. II, Olathe; two daughters, Pam M. Holmes, Joplin, Mo., and Wendy L. Webb, Stilwell; two brothers, Robert, Joplin, Mo., and Richard, Wichita; a sister, Irene Holmes, Fayetteville, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to service time today at the chapel.
The family suggests memorials to Mid-America Heart Institute, CHF Fund No. 13502, 4401 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Mo. 64111.
