A Topeka man was served with a Douglas County arrest warrant on Thursday for a shooting two weeks ago in downtown Lawrence.
Alfreddie Kelley, 41, was charged with aggravated battery and criminal possession of a firearm for a March 16 shooting that injured an 18-year-old Tonganoxie man. Kelley was served with the warrant and rearrested during a court appearance in Shawnee County, where he had been jailed on a probation violation.
Kelley remained in the Shawnee County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond. It wasn't clear when he would be returned to Douglas County to face the additional charges.
