Services for Bessie L. Miller, 84, Topeka, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Washington Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at her home.
She was born April 28, 1916, in Mound City, Ill., the daughter of Olen and Mabel Fowler Smith. She moved to Lawrence in 1964 and moved to Topeka in 1989.
Mrs. Miller was a cook and housekeeper for Topeka State Hospital. She retired in 1964.
She married Pharon Miller Sept. 21, 1964, in Topeka. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include four daughters, Carol Roberts, Kenner, La., Ruth Brooks and Alice Stuhr, both of Topeka, Norma Jean Braga, Nashua, N.H.; a son, James McGrew, Fairfax, S.C.; a sister, Catherine Ball, Osage City; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary, where the family will greet them from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
