Marzha Fritzler, a senior basketball player at Haskell Indian Nations University, has been named an NAIA Academic All-American.
Fritzler, a 5-foot-5 guard from Pryor, Mont., is the first NAIA Academic All-American in school history. HINU became a full-time member of the NAIA during the 2000-01 school year.
An American Indian Studies major, Fritzler plans to pursue at masters degree in Indigenous Nations Studies at Kansas University.
To be eligible for NAIA academic honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
BU splits with Graceland
Baldwin -- Baker University split a doubleheader with Graceland on Tuesday, dropping the first game 5-3 and winning the second 6-2. Josh White was the winner for the Wildcats (5-10), and Wade Evans homered.
Baker softball splits
Baldwin -- Baker University dropped the first game of a softball doubleheader with Benedictine, 6-0, before rallying to win the nightcap, 5-3. Erin Patterson and Cara Cramer both had doubles in the second game.
