DeSoto Memorial services for Creston Dale Nelson, 70, DeSoto, will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, DeSoto. Cremation is planned.
Mr. Nelson died Monday, March 26, 2001, at his home of lymphoma.
He was born May 21, 1930, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of S. C. and Mabel L. (Conley) Nelson.
Mr. Nelson served in the U.S. Navy for four years and the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve for 28 years, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a professional truck driver for 34 years.
He married Beulah Jean Massey on Sept. 29, 1956, in New Lancaster. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Cathy Schieck, Temecula, Calif., and Michelle Drye, Nixa, Mo.; a son, Sterling, Olathe; two brothers, Kenneth, Selah, Wash., and Don, Pomeroy, Wash.; three sisters, Loretta Reynolds and Marilyn Morgan, both of LaCygne, Betty Bangs, Louisburg; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following services at the chapel.
