Del Worsham outraced 10-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force on Sunday to get the fourth victory of his career.
Worsham's first victory of the season came when he gained the starting-line advantage and blasted down the track in his Pontiac Firebird in 4.852 seconds at 311.63 mph. Force's Ford Mustang couldn't catch Worsham in the quarter-mile, and he finished at 4.859 at 303.63.
Mike Dunn, Warren Johnson, Angelle Savoie and Randy Daniels also won in the finals of the O'Reilly Nationals at Houston Raceway Park.
Top Fuel driver Dunn beat Larry Dixon, covering a quarter-mile in 4.603 at 324.98. Dixon was late off the starting line despite running a quicker 4.579 at 319.45.
Johnson earned his 83rd Pro Stock victory with a pass of 6.844 at 200.98, edging fellow Pontiac Grand Am driver Mark Pawuk and his pass of 6.886 at 200.02.
Savoie picked up her first win of the season and the 16th of her career in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Savoie's bike was quicker than that of Matt Hines, running a 7.184 at 183.72 to a 7.203 at 187.26 in an all-Suzuki final.
Daniels won his ninth Pro Stock Truck final and second of the season, holding off fellow Chevy S-10 driver Bob Panella for the victory. Daniels covered the distance in 7.439 at 180.94, edging Panella, who posted a run of 7.414 at 181.67.
