CAR BURGLARIES REPORTED

Lawrence Police were busy during the weekend investigating a series of automobile burglaries reported mostly in the southeast section of the city.

Eight police reports of auto burglaries were released Sunday involving incidents in the 2700 blocks of Harper and Bishop streets, Fenwick Road and Rawhide Lane. The reports showed losses mostly involving car stereo systems and CDs.

The incidents occurred sometime Friday or Saturday nights, according to the reports.

No one was available at the police department Sunday night to comment on whether any arrests had been made. No other information was available.

In addition, a car parked in the 100 block of East 11th Street was vandalized. Someone used a sharp object to scratch the trunk lid, according to another report. The damage was discovered about 11 p.m. Friday. No damage estimate was listed.
