According to the Census Bureau, Douglas County's median household income -- including money from sources other than jobs -- is estimated at $37,248 a year. If a family had two workers making the living wage and working 40 hours a week, they would bring in a combined $38,022.
The Kaw Valley Living Wage Alliance will discuss the draft ordinance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt.
