Mrs. Cotton died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at her son's home in Austin, Tex.
She was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Freedom, Mo., the daughter of Leslie and Clora (Reed) Rogers.
Mrs. Cotton was a homemaker and was trained as a bookkeeper. She lived from 1952 to 1968 in Longmont, Colo., where she was a member of the First Congregational Church. In 1969 she moved to Lawrence, where her husband was associate dean in Kansas University's School of Pharmacy. She moved in 1991 to Sarasota, Fla., and in 1998 to Austin, Tex.
She married Hugh A. Cotton on July 1, 1945, in Elko, Nev. He died Dec. 15, 1990.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith Dorsey, Ellijay, Ga.; two sons, Barry A. Cotton, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and Jeff Cotton, Austin, Tex.; a brother, Leslie Rogers Jr., Bradenton, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Hugh A. Cotton Memorial Scholarship, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
