Stanley T. Rolfe, Albert P. Learned distinguished professor of civil and environmental engineering, has been invited to receive the award in May in Washington.

The award is made annually to a member of ASCE who has made a definite contribution to the advancement of structural engineering, either in research, planning, design or construction, including methods and materials.

Rolfe is being recognized for his extensive research, academic achievements and considerable practical experience in the application of fracture mechanics to fracture and fatigue problems, ASCE said.
