Warkins-Bowen

Richard and Connie Warkins, Lawrence, and Judy and Leonel Urdeneta, Topeka, announce the engagement of their children, Rachel Warkins and Justin Bowen.

The future bride is a Lawrence High School graduate. She is pursuing a degree in jewelry and silversmithing at Kansas University.

The future groom is a Topeka West High School graduate. He is pursuing a degree in sculpture at KU.

The couple plan to marry today at Danforth Chapel on Kansas University's campus.

Carter-Fairchild

Robert Fairchild, Lawrence, and Joanne Fairchild, Las Vegas, announce the engagement of their son, Andrew Fairchild, to Amy Carter.

The future bride is the daughter of Walter and Linda Carter, Olathe. She is a graduate of Olathe South High School and a 1999 graduate of Kansas University. She is an analyst for Sprint.

The future groom is a Lawrence High School graduate. He plans to graduate from Kansas University in May, and then work for Honda Research and Development as an engine designer.

The couple plan a June 9 wedding at Our Lady of Sorrows in Kansas City, Mo.

Dunn-Mitchell

Michael and Jacqueline Dunn, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen Dunn, to Jeremy Mitchell, both of Lawrence.

The future bride graduated from Lawrence High School in 1996. She attends Kansas University, and is a floral designer at Owen's Flower Shop.

The future groom is the son of Clifford and Judith VanNice, Leander, Tex. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1993. He earned his undergraduate degree in pre-veterinary medicine in 1997 at Kansas State University. He received an associate's degree in business in 1998 from Johnson County Community College. He works for Jim Clark Motors in Lawrence.

The couple plan an Oct. 17 wedding at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lawrence.

Cook-Douglas

David and Becky Cook, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Cook, Lawrence, to Gabriel Douglas, Pierce City, Mo.

The future bride is a Lawrence High School graduate. She has attended Vanderbilt University, Kansas University and the Institute for Shipboard Education. She is pursuing a degree in communications and international studies, and works as a substitute teacher.

The future groom is the son of Timothy and Annette Douglas, Pierce City, Mo. He graduated from Pierce City High School. He attended Missouri Southern University, and is pursuing a degree in history and education at Southwest Missouri State University.

The couple plan a March 31 wedding in Lawrence.
