Services for Bernita Harris, 92, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Baldwin Care Center.
She was born April 1, 1908, in Lawrence, the daughter of August and Edith Gauck Morawetz. She had lived in Lawrence for many years and later in Salina. She returned to Lawrence in 1988.
Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church.
She married Jay W. Harris Oct. 25, 1929, in Lawrence. He died Nov. 9, 1992.
Survivors include a son, John A. Harris, Lawrence; a daughter, Merlene Howell, Overland Park; a twin sister, Lorita Lowery, Topeka; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials in her name to First Christian Church Care Ministry or Baldwin Care Center, sent in care of the mortuary.
