BEND, ORE. — Memorial services for Ruth Edith (Norwood) Harris, 83, Atlanta, are pending and will be announced by Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home, Bend, Ore. Cremation has taken place.
Mrs. Harris died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in Bend, Ore.
She was born Jan. 25, 1918, in Lecompton, the daughter of Robert Moses and Bessie (Jackson) Norwood. She grew up in Lecompton and graduated from high school there.
Mrs. Harris worked for the U.S. government as a civil service employee for many years and was also a homemaker.
She married Joseph Wagnor Harris June 17, 1939, in Washington, D.C. He died Sept. 24, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Harris, Bend, Ore., and James Harris, Hazen, N.D.; two brothers, James Norwood, Cheney, Wash., and Mac Norwood, Lawrence; two sisters, Helen Norwood, Lecompton, and Mae Norwood, Omaha, Neb.; and four grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 105 N.W. Irving Road, Bend, Ore. 97701.
