SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Services for Robert W. Payne, 83, Springdale, were March 16 at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home Chapel, Springdale. Burial was in Fayetteville National Cemetery.
Mr. Payne died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in Springdale.
He was born Sept. 27, 1917, in Joplin, Mo., the son of John and Imogene Payne.
Mr. Payne worked as a plumber in Lawrence, Kan., retiring in 1975. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipe fitters Local No. 763. He belonged to the Catholic church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert R. and Michael, both of Lawrence, Kan.; three daughters, Sharon McNish, Kansas City, Kan., Roberta Moore, Ottawa, Kan., and Mary Worley, DeSoto, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Pond, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Jan Mader, Allen, Tex.; a sister, Virginia Payne Stacey, Bartlesville, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
His first wife, Erma Connor Payne, and second wife, Dorothy Buseman Payne, both died earlier.
