One person was killed and two others were injured Wednesday afternoon when two cars collided on Kansas Highway 10 just west of Wakarusa Drive southwest of Lawrence's city limits.
Douglas County Sheriff's officers were still on the scene and no names or other details had been released by late Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities were investigating the scene of an accident Wednesday where a man was killed and two others, including a child, were injured.
A witness who assisted at the scene said a woman and a young boy were transported from the scene by Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical. Officers would only say that one adult and one child were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The child was then flown by Life Flight air ambulance to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The location was just south of the Sport-2-Sport complex on Clinton Parkway.
