— Graveside services for Ethel Lucille Malicky, 91, Baldwin, will be private. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Baldwin.

Mrs. Malicky died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at the Baldwin Care Center.

She was born in 1909 near Wymore, Neb., the daughter of W.I. and Addie (Clayton) Reed. She attended school in Beatrice, Neb., and at Peru State (Neb.) Teachers College, and graduated from Iowa State University in Ames with a degree in home economics and a teaching certificate. She moved to Baldwin in 1949.

Mrs. Malicky taught in Barneston, Neb., and after moving to Baldwin she taught third and fifth grades and home economics in Baldwin public schools. She was a member of Baldwin First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, P.E.O. and other organizations in Baldwin.

She married George Malicky in 1932. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Georgann Raney, Beaumont, Tex., and Joyce Castle, New York City; a son, Neal Malicky, Berea, Ohio; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Baldwin First United Methodist Church, and they may be sent in care of the Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin 66006.
