To the editor:

Attitude test for Lawrence drivers: Do you frequently...

1) Drive through a stop light changing from yellow to red or already red?

2) Drive more than five miles per hour over the posted speed limits?

3) Change lanes more than three times in three blocks on Iowa, Sixth Street or 23rd Street?

4) Follow other drivers close enough to get them to speed up?

5) Use the left-turn lanes on Sixth Street and 23rd Street as access ramps?

6) Assume that other drivers are just waiting for you at a four-way stop?

7) Test the agility of pedestrians on Massachusetts Street and Jayhawk Boulevard?

8) Turn into the wrong lane especially into the right lane on a left turn?

9) Sound your horn, gesture, race your engine, make a face or other comments on drivers who violate your standard of behavior?

10) Try to cause an accident by such tricks as slamming on your brakes or crowding a lane so that it looks as if you're the victim?

If you can answer "yes" to most of these statements, you are a road bully. Stop it!

Stephen H. Dill,

Lawrence
