Services for Mary Catherine Wallace, 75, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Lawrence. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lawrence.
Mrs. Wallace died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 4, 1926, in Neodesha, the daughter of Floyd McNair and Esther (Everett) McNair.
Mrs. Wallace taught kindergarten through college in her teaching career with various schools in Philadelphia, Chicago, Kansas City, Mo., and Tonganoxie.
She moved to Lawrence from rural Tonganoxie in 1981. She was a volunteer at Riverside School. In addition to teaching art, she also was an artist.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lawrence Art Guild, National Education Assn. and retired teachers organizations.
She married Arch Nicholson Wallace on Aug. 11, 1944, in Minneapolis, Kan. He died in 1978.
Survivors include four daughters, Sonia Reetz and Carrie Wallace, Lawrence, Heidi Wallace, Houston, Angela Wallace, Los Angeles; a sister, Ruth McNair, Lawrence; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
