Brown, Iverson won't make Philly road trip

Philadelphia The Philadelphia 76ers have more to worry about than their 21-point loss to the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.

Chris Webber scored 26 points and Peja Stojakovic had 19 as Sacramento humbled the Sixers 100-79 Friday night in a matchup of two of the league's top three teams.

But Philadelphia's biggest concern is the health of coach Larry Brown and standout Allen Iverson. Neither will join the team for the beginning of its four-game road trip.

Brown is staying in Philadelphia to undergo medical tests. The Sixers said the 60-year-old coach is suffering from acid reflux and a hiatal hernia, disorders of the stomach and esophagus.

Iverson is staying home to get treatment for a hip pointer. He returned to the lineup Friday night after missing one game with the injury.

Iverson scored 28 points against the Kings on 11-for-28 shooting, but was to miss the team's flight to Milwaukee to undergo further treatment.

"I could care less about the basketball part of it. I just hope he's all right," Iverson said about Brown.

Brown would have been able to continue coaching if the Sixers weren't traveling, according to team physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy.

Iverson could join the team during the trip, McPhilemy said. The Sixers play the Bucks on Saturday, Seattle on Monday, the Clippers on Tuesday and Phoenix next Friday.

Pacers 103, Hawks 97

Indianapolis Jalen Rose scored 21 points and Tyus Edney, activated off the injured list just before tipoff, had a season-high 16 points as Indiana snapped a three-game losing streak.

SuperSonics 90, Bulls 80

Chicago Gary Payton scored 24 points as Seattle won their fourth straight game, beating Chicago. Ruben Patterson added 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting for Seattle, which moved within four games of idle Minnesota for last playoff spot in the West.

Lakers 101, Wizards 89

Washington Kobe Bryant had 26 points and five steals as Los Angeles beat Washington for its third straight victory.

Trail Blazers 90, Jazz 87

Portland, Ore. Scottie Pippen had 20 points and a season-high six steals as Portland stopped its five-game losing streak. Arvydas Sabonis added 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting for the Blazers.

Magic 103, Grizzlies 99

Orlando, Fla. Darrell Armstrong had 29 points and 11 assists and Orlando won its second consecutive game without Tracy McGrady. McGrady, Orlando's leading scorer and rebounder, was serving the latter half of a two-game suspension for fighting with Sacramento's Bobby Jackson last Saturday.

Celtics 87, Nuggets 83

Denver Antoine Walker scored 21 points and Paul Pierce had 19 points and 12 rebounds as Boston beat Denver. Bryant Stith, who spent his first eight seasons in Denver before being traded last October, added 17 points to help the Celtics remain percentage points ahead of Indiana for the eighth playoff spot in the East. Denver center Raef LaFrentz sat out the game with a sprained left ankle.

Clippers 94, Warriors 76

Los Angeles Jeff McInnis had his first career triple-double with 21 points, 11 assists and a career-high 12 rebounds as Los Angeles beat Golden State.

Cavaliers 114, Hornets 109

Cleveland Matt Harpring scored a career-high 28 points and Bimbo Coles made two huge baskets in the final 1:33, leading Cleveland over Charlotte.

Spurs 95, Nets 86

San Antonio Tim Duncan scored 29 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead San Antonio over New Jersey. After a sluggish first half ended with the Spurs leading 45-39, San Antonio used a 16-4 run at the end of the third quarter to build a big lead and then hung on late.
