McCullough-Koenig

Mr. and Mrs. Larry McCullough, Shawnee, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lynn McCullough, Lawrence, to John Koenig, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Koenig, Rome, N.Y.

The future bride is employed at Kansas University as a circulation supervisor.

The future groom is employed by Automatic Doors of the Midwest as a service technician in Parkville, Mo.

The couple plan a Sept. 8 wedding at Central United Methodist Church in Lawrence.






Oelschaeger-McElwain

Robert and Karen Oelschaeger, St. Charles, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Diane Oelschaeger, to Davis Keith McElwain, son of Jan McElwain and Larry McElwain, both of Lawrence.

The future bride is a graduate of St. Charles High School and Truman State University with a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in elementary education. She teaches first grade at Bellerive School in the Parkway School District, St. Louis.

The future groom is a 1995 Lawrence High School graduate. He earned a business degree in 1999 from Wake Forest University. 1st Lt. McElwain serves as chemical officer in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Sill, Okla.

The couple plan a June 30 wedding in St. Louis, Mo.






Freed-Loethen

Theresa Freed and Chris Loethen, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement. Theresa is the daughter of Doris Bond and Alfred Freed, both of Topeka. Chris is the son of Patricia Dowling, Hoyt, and Paul Loethen, Topeka.

The future bride is a 1996 Hayden High School graduate. She attends Kansas University and plans to graduate in December 2001 with degrees in political science and broadcast journalism. She is employed with the Lawrence Journal-World.

The future groom is a 1995 Royal Valley High School graduate. He attends Kansas University and plans to graduate in May with degrees in English and anthropology. Chris will attend Tulane Law School, New Orleans, next semester. He works at NCS.

George Pisani and Patricia Pisani, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Danielle Pisani to Theodore Kenneth Fountain, Jr., son of Theodore and Susan Fountain, Peculiar, Mo.

The future bride is a business information assistant at BHA Group, Raytown, Mo. The future groom is a computer support specialist at BHA Group.

The couple plan a Sept. 15 wedding.

The future bride attends Kansas University and plans to graduate in May with a degree journalism.

The future groom, Woodstock, Ohio, is a graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in animal science and production management.

The couple plans a June 9 wedding in Lawrence.

The future bride is the daughter of Bryden and Carolyn Carnahan, Decatur, Ill. She is a graduate of Eisenhower High School and Millikin University, both in Decatur. She is employed by the Raybourn Group, Chicago, as a meetings and communications manager.

The future groom is a Lawrence High School and Kansas University graduate. He is employed by Culligan International, Northbrook, Ill., as a human resources manager.

The couple plan a July 21 wedding at the First Christian Church in Decatur.






MacKinder-Stone

William and Marilyn MacKinder, Shawnee, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen "Katie" Elizabeth MacKinder to Aaron William Stone, both of Lawrence.

The future bride is a 1998 graduate of DeSoto High School and is employed by SS&C Business & Tax Service, Inc. as an administrative assistant.

The future groom is the son of Raymond and Judy Stone, Lawrence. He is a 1998 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 2000 graduate of Longview Community College. He is employed by Dale Willey Automotive as an automotive technician.

The couple plan a Sept. 1 wedding in Shawnee.






Schunk-Grohe

Heather Schunk, Lawrence, and Allan Grohe Jr., San Francisco, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of John and Laurie Schunk, Wichita. The future groom is the son of Allan Sr. and Catherine Grohe, Merchantville, N.J.

Heather is a graduate of Wichita Heights High School. She graduated from Kansas University with a bachelor's degree and master's degree in music therapy. She teaches American Sign Language at Kansas University.

Allan graduated from Bishop Eustace Prep School, Merchantville, N.J. He received a bachelor's degree in English from Penn State and a master's degree in English at Kansas University. He is a knowledge engineer at Juniper Networks in Sunnyvale, Calif.

The couple plan a May 12 wedding at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.
