Services for Charles M. Suffron, 86, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.
Mr. Suffron died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.
He was born Aug. 13, 1914, in Ottawa, the son of Charles O. and Isabella A. (Miller) Suffron. He moved to Lawrence in 1955 from Ottawa.
Mr. Suffron was a retired parts manager at Ellena Buick, had worked at other area automotive dealerships and was a delivery man for Manor Bread Co. from 1954 to 1958.
He was a member of Westside Presbyterian Church, where he had served as deacon and elder. He was a longtime volunteer for the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America and institutional representative for Troop No. 55. He also had been involved in Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America.
He married Kathleen Powell on Nov. 14, 1943, in Moran. She died March 31, 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Lankford, Lawrence; two sons, Raymond, League City, Tex., and Donald, Topeka; eight grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Westside Presbyterian Church or the Good Samaritan Fund at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, and they may be sent in care of the mortuary.
