Knight to visit Texas Tech
Lubbock, Texas Bob Knight was coy about his future Monday during a conference call promoting a Web site that is paying him to provide his picks for the NCAA Tournament.
But Knight, fired in September after 29 years at Indiana, has confirmed he plans to visit Texas Tech later this week for a meeting about the school's coaching vacancy.
Knight was invited by longtime friend and Tech athletics director Gerald Myers, who said Monday the two will hold a short news conference Thursday.
In an interview Monday with Indianapolis television station WISH, Knight said Texas Tech has impressed him a lot over the years. He noted his friendship with Myers and said he once visited Tech when Bill Parcells was an assistant football coach there.
"It's a situation I find very appealing, and they're interested in talking about it and I am, too. We'll just see what happens," Knight said.

Heavy debate expected on bill
Tallahassee, Fla. The sponsor of legislation that would make it a felony to release autopsy photos of NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt said Monday the bill will run into some tough questioning.
"It will be very heavily debated starting tomorrow," state Sen. Jim King said in an interview on CNN.
The Senate Criminal Justice Committee is scheduled to hear the initial testimony on the measure today in the Florida Legislature. Earnhardt's widow, Teresa, asked King to file a bill to change the state's public records law to stop a newspaper's request for autopsy photographs and videos.
King's bill would make it a third-degree felony to release the records with a maximum sentence of five years in jail and a $5,000 fine.
