Thrashers' Audette gets two-game suspension
New York Atlanta Thrashers forward Donald Audette was given a two-game suspension Monday for hitting Calgary Flames forward Ronald Petrovicky in the head during a March 11 game.
Audette was assessed a match penalty for attempting to injure when he held up his stick at head level while Petrovicky was charging toward him.
Norton returns to Sharks
New York The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired defenseman Bobby Dollas and goalie Johan Hedberg from San Jose for defenseman Jeff Norton, who will play for the Sharks for the third time in his career. The 35-year-old Norton was with the Sharks from 1993-95, before being dealt to the St. Louis Blues, and then returned from 1998 through last season. The unrestricted free agent was signed by Pittsburgh on Nov. 14.
Rucinsky dropped by Marchment
San Jose, Calif. Martin Rucinsky became the latest victim of a nasty hit from San Jose Sharks defenseman Bryan Marchment on Monday night.
Rucinsky, Montreal's veteran left wing, was dropped by Marchment just 6:27 into the Canadiens' game at San Jose. Rucinsky was playing the puck near the Sharks' blue line when Marchment, trailing his leg away from his body, upended Rucinsky with a knee-to-knee hit.
