Topeka — Services for Barbara Ann Lamantia, 74, Topeka, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
Mrs. Lamantia died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Topeka, the daughter of Edward and Marie (Jenkins) Hahn. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1944 and attended Washburn University, where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority.
Mrs. Lamantia was a self-employed seamstress for many interior decorators in Topeka, and had worked at Washburn University and Jostens in Topeka and Allen Press in Lawrence.
She also had owned and operated Barbara Edwards Clothing Boutique on the Terrace at Brookwood Shopping Center in the 1960s.
She married Sam J. Lamantia in 1946 in Topeka. He died May 3, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Christine Patek, Topeka; two sons, Alan Lamantia, San Jose, Calif., and Mark Lamantia, Topeka; a sister, Patricia Blair, Lawrence; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
