Services for Edith S. Schellhorn, 86, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stull Cemetery.
Mrs. Schellhorn died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.
She was born June 29, 1914, in the Richland area of Douglas County, the daughter of Charles Walter and Silana M. (Johnson) Houk.
Mrs. Schellhorn graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1932. She was a lifelong member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. She taught Bible school and was a district officer and president of the local Methodist Women's Society.
Mrs. Schellhorn farmed with her husband in western Douglas County until retirement.
She married Richard L. Schellhorn May 13, 1933, in Olathe. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Carl Schellhorn, Topeka; a sister, Evelyn Confer-Jennings, Topeka; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Centenary United Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home.
