22-year-old in fair condition after ejection from truck
A 22-year-old Fairway man was injured when the truck he was driving early Sunday overturned east of Lawrence on Kansas Highway 10, the Douglas County Sheriff's Department said.
Ryan L. Arnold was taken to Kansas University Medical Center by a LifeNet air ambulance. He was in fair condition Sunday in the medical center's intensive care unit, a hospital spokesperson said.
Arnold was driving a 1997 Mazda pickup truck about 3 a.m. west on K-10 when it overturned near the East Hills Business Park, Sheriff's Lt. Kathy Tate said. Arnold was ejected from the truck, she said.
The accident still is under investigation, but it appears the truck may have drifted onto the north shoulder of the highway before overturning, Tate said.
Arnold was the only person in the truck, Tate said.
