Haase-Kim

Devon Page Haase and Anthony Kim, both of Chicago, were married Jan. 14, 2001, at Plymouth Church, Lawrence, with the Rev. Peter Luckey officiating.

The bride is the daughter of John Haase and Lyn Chance, Lawrence, and Gary and Janice Toebben, Fort Mitchell, Ky. The groom is the son of Myung Kim, Fair Oaks, Calif., and the late Chung Kim.

Sarah Smith James was maid of honor. Adam Kim was best man.

Jennifer Hinz, Dana Wolfson and Lindsey Rockoff were bridesmaids. Andrew Kim, Kevin Kostelecky, Brett Schwartz and Steve Berg were groomsmen.

Wyatt Haase, Andy Toebben, Dave Samlan and Eric Berggren were ushers. Seth Toebben was the reader. Tarynn Butler was the guest book attendant. The program attendants were Jaclynn Butler and Robynn Butler.

A reception was held at Liberty Hall.

The bride is a 1992 graduate of Lawrence High School and 1999 graduate of Baker University. She is a marketing and communications manager at Commerx in Chicago.

The groom graduated from Glenbrook South High School, Glenview, Ill., and from Kansas University in 1997. He is an account executive for CBS-TV in Chicago.

The couple reside in Chicago.

Schieferecke-Beckstead

Amy Elizabeth Schieferecke and Charles Austin Beckstead, both of Lawrence, were married Jan. 8, 2001, in San Souici, Jamaica.

The bride is the daughter of Betty Schieferecke, Selden, and the late James Schieferecke.

The groom is the son of Dorothy Beckstead, Overland Park, and Michael Beckstead, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Wendy Reeves was maid of honor. Aaron Beckstead was best man.

The bride received a bachelor of arts degree in political science and international studies from Kansas State University. She plans to graduate from Kansas University with a juris doctorate in May.

She has accepted employment with Gray, Cary, Ware and Freidenrich in San Diego.

The groom received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University. He plans to graduate from Kansas University with a master's degree in computer science in May.

He has accepted employment with SPAWAR in San Diego.

After their honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Lawrence.
