Kansas City signs Febles, three others to 1-year pacts

Haines City, Fla. Kansas City Royals second baseman Carlos Febles was one of four players to sign one-year contracts with the team on Friday.

Febles hit .257 with two home runs and 29 RBIs last season, but was limited to 100 games after being put on the disabled list twice with a strained shoulder and a bruised ankle bone.

Right-handed pitchers Chris Fussell and Chad Durbin and catcher A.J. Hinch also signed.

Fussell was 5-3 with a 6.30 ERA in 20 games nine of them starts last season. Durbin was 2-5 with an 8.21 ERA in 16 starts as a rookie.

Hinch, who was acquired in a January trade from Oakland, has a .225 batting average in 202 games in the majors, all with the Athletics.
