Mr. Coon died Feb. 22, 2001, in Whittier, Calif.
He was born Oct. 22, 1940, in Osage City, the son of Lawrence and Gertude (Hansen) Coon.
Survivors include his mother, Gertrude Coon, Eudora; a daughter, Lisa Ricketts, Lenexa; a brother, Stephen, Lawrence; and two grandchildren.
McCormick Mortuary, Whittier, Calif., was in charge of arrangements.
